During the Harrison Township Fire District’s commission meeting on Oct. 16, the district’s first career lieutenant, Chris Conley, and second full-time firefighter, John Franklin, were sworn into their positions by Mayor Louis Manzo.

Franklin started his volunteer firefighting career in the Grenloch company of the Washington Township Fire Department. He was hired earlier this year in a part-time program and will start his first full-time shift on Monday.
